I really hate to start the weekend off on a downer but this story must be shared, it must be seen. These victims must have justice for there is no excuse to harm the little ones. Yes, I’m talking about another brutal child slaying. This time in Uberaba, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. A one year, seventh month old girl identified as Thamara Pereira de Lima was found dead in her parents room in the Parque dos Girassóis neighborhood with head trauma, a fractured right arm, bruises on her forehead and small cuts on the left ear.
The parents of the child; Kelly Beatriz Pereira de Lima, 34, and Brito Santos Francisneio, 33, triggered the SAMU (Mobile Emergency Service) to report that their child had fallen out of her crib and was not breathing. However, when responders arrived, they found a dead child and signs that she had been dead for at least several hours as rigidity had set in. The scene was shady enough that the military police were summoned and the couple was questioned and ultimately arrested as there was strong evidence to suggest that the girl had been subjected to a brutal beating.
The parents are known drug users and alcoholics and as they were hauled away, they sure looked the part, in their own little world, seemingly oblivious to what was going on. Possibly getting high and the little one was making too much racket and causing already frayed nerves to respond violently. Residents attempted to assault the couple as they were led away but, unfortunately, a lynching was prevented. The child’s body was carried out in a thermal blanket while news crews and bystanders recorded the event. Neighbors reported that the child had been assaulted before by her mother who never let anyone see Thamara, but kept her in the house.
The father, Brito has been cited previously for embezzlement, theft and assault while the mother, Kelly has been held on suspicion of drug trafficking.
