The body of an 18 year old man by the name of Lairton da Silva Aguiar was found this past Tuesday the 22nd of April on the outskirts of Caruaru, Pernambuco – Brazil. The victim had been missing since Saturday the 19th of April, and was last seen drinking alcohol with 34 year old ex-con Maviel da Silva. Lairton had been stabbed and stoned to death and the body showed signs of decomposition, even after only a short time exposed to the elements (the high humidity and heat in Northeastern Brazil helps tremendously to the acceleration of decomposition) and had his creepy eyes popping out.
The family accused Maviel da Silva of the murder for they asserted they saw him arrive home filled with blood Saturday night, although Maviel claims the blood was his and was the result of a motorcycle accident. He was heard at the police station but released soon after. The victim’s family was outraged by this.
The lead investigator told the family he couldn’t arrest the suspect before analyzing the blood on his clothes, and so the investigation is still ongoing.
So here we have it. Another day in Da Silva land. This is becoming routine by now.
