Mexican Policias Federales filmed themselves torturing presumed narco sicarios by filling their breathing tubes and cavities with water. Toward the end of the video, just before the video cut off, it also looked like they were going to dip the head of one of the captives in a shit filled toilet bowl.
While Mexican drug cartel members are notorious for brutality and employ torture as a normal part of dealings with rival cartels, unlike police, they are not taxes funded and while that is not an excuse for savage behavior, for police to resort to water torturing captives, regardless of what they may have done in the past, is unacceptable. The police have an obligation toward public who pay for their wages. Actions undertaken for one’s personal gratification in a capacity of a public servant make the public servant worse than a criminal because the latter at least doesn’t pretend to serve and protect the public.
