The body of Rosa García Romero, a 28 year old woman from Acapulco, state of Guerrero, Mexico, was found on the bank of the Río de la Sabana some 200 metres from a Federal Police outpost.
Her head had been split open by what police believe was the butt of a rifle, before three 9mm rounds were shot into her. The three shell casings were beside her, one can be seen by her head above. I suspect the head wound would have been fatal regardless, so perhaps the rounds were more a coup de grace rather than purely functional. Which is a big call for me to make about Mexicans. As we all know, their thing seems to be drawn out and painful executions, not something quick and remotely considerate.
Romero’s family state she had been abducted from her home by a group of armed men. As you can see they blindfolded and gagged her with plastic tape, and tied her hands behind her back with the same. Graciously for us, they left her fully clothed.
