Police Beat Washington Man to Death After They Were Called to Help Him

On May 11, 2014, 44 year old Ron Hillstrom was having a mental issue episode so neighbors who observed him walking in circles and asking for help in the parking lot of the apartment complex in University Place, Washington called police to “help” him. The police showed up and “helped” the delusional man to death by first tazing him with four tazers at the same time, and then beating him senseless. According to an eye witness (reported by KOMO News):

And then they started beating him. And they just weren’t done until he was dead…

Ron Hillstrom reportedly had a screwdriver in his hand when he was attacked, but according to witnesses did not use it to threaten the officers in anyway.

Let me sum it up:

Ron Hillstrom was beaten to death by cops while having a mental episode and crying for help. Over a dozen eye witnesses all said the same thing. Plus there is the video which, albeit difficult to discern due to being filmed in the dark, does paint a picture of a pack of cops bashing systematically on the guy who’s immobilized on the ground and desperately calling for help. They beat him to death because he was sick. Because he was ill. Think about that for a minute…

We clearly live in times when police are the greatest threat to a person’s life and well being. In a democracy, it should be the government that fears the people, not the other way around. When it gets to the point that the people not only can’t trust their government anymore, but have to fear for their lives when dealing with government employees, you know something is terribly wrong.

There are just too many cases of police responding to calls for help by killing the caller. What we see in this video is not in any way an isolated incident. They’re even dangerous to pets.

People with mental health issues seem to have it extra tough. Police murder them like it’s sport.

Yet violent crime in the USA is the lowest it has been in decades. Murder and manslaughter rates are the lowest they’ve been in 40 years. That means more non-violent people are being killed by police.

But then again, now that Ron Hillstrom is dead, at least he won’t have to face 30 years in prison. That’s how much it rocks living in a police state. If you somehow survive an attempt on your life by the cops, then they’ll destroy you by framing you with fraudulent charges and locking you up. Meanwhile, your would be killers will either enjoy complete impunity, or will have their buddies pull off a publicity stunt as happened with this Florida cop who was fired in 2012 after a video surfaced proving the use of excessive force, only to be reinstated with back pay now that the case has slipped out of the public’s short attention span.
