Video from Wardak Province in the heart of Afghanistan shows tribal people punishing a captured robber with caning.
The town where the video was filmed is just 150 km away from the capital of Afghanistan, but there is no authority so the elders of the town deal with this sort of thing their way.
The captured robber is blindfolded and is interviewed throughout this video about his robbery. He used to stop buses, taxis, bike riders and travelers. His accomplice would signal the buses or taxis to stop using an AK-47 and he, himself armed with a 9 mm pistol would go in and steal people’s money and valuables.
But this last time he was caught after some brave travelers retaliated. His accomplice was killed, he was captured alive.
The people in the video with sticks in their hands are the elderlies of the town and the people around them are travelers.
One of the guys asks: “Why did you stop people and robed them? They are your own people!” And he says that “he is sorry, terribly sorry“. He says that his friend owed him 50,000 Afghani (Afghan money) and that he was asking for it like everyday. But then his friend had advised him to stop people and rob them as the only way to get money.
Then one of the interviewers asks: “Why your own people, why not other ethnicities?” The robber apologizes a lot but talks shit and the elderlies knew that he was lying.
That’s the important part of the video. the rest is all apologizing. The elders decide to punish him with caning first for his crime, and second for his lies.
First of all, big props to Best Gore member Tessue for the video, the translation and the context. Secondly – it is quite likely that if you are from a Western country, you are a product of the Zionist indoctrination and thus, you’ll be very prone to jumping to conclusions about these people. Zionists wanted to attack Afghanistan and take control of their $63 Billion a year Opium industry so we’ve been inundated with agenda reports that picture Afghanistan as a backward country and its inhabitants as savages.
But if you find courage to grow above this propaganda, you’ll realize that we also attacked them because we envy them their freedom. These people are free – they are being attacked, but they are free. They are not bound by political correctness, servitude to Israel or enslavement by the IMF. They live by their own rules and thus, control their own lives. Everything they do is done in their best interest and not in what someone from a big city far removed from where they live told them was in their best interest. They do not need a license to exist.
Compared to them, what we have is an illusion of freedom. We are not being bombed on a daily basis by blood thirsty war criminals so the illusion persists, although the reason we are not attacked is because we don’t have any freedom and thus there is nothing for them to envy. But unlike the Afghanis, we do not have the opportunity to go through our lives without interference, manipulation or supervision from a higher power. Unlike them, we are not in control of the life and death issues of our existence, such as food, shelter or defense against threats. Unlike them, you have not freedom to punish a robber you’d catch in the act as you’d be punished yourself for interfering with the establishment’s monopoly on violence.
No one defined Freedom better than the genius himself – Ted Kaczynski, aka the Unabomber so allow me to quote this great man:
Freedom means having power; not the power to control other people but the power to control the circumstances of one’s own life. One does not have freedom if anyone else (especially a large organization) has power over one, no matter how benevolently, tolerantly and permissively that power may be exercised. It is important not to confuse freedom with mere permissiveness.
Let’s face it, the Unabomber was right. Thank you so much for this video, Tessue:
